The Review 📚 My Best Friend’s Exorcism
✨ The Title/Cover Draw:
- I am on a mission to read Grady Hendrix’s backlist. This book fulfilled a few prompts for #Summerween this year!
💜 What I liked:
- The mentality of the 80’s (D&D is satanic?) along with the general vibe was super fun. I thought the characters were alive to the point where I was wanting to fight for them!
😱 What I didn’t like:
- This book is not for the weak stomach, as there are many gross parts. But I did appreciate that the entire book wasn’t like that.
💁♀️ The Characters:
- Abby and Gretchen are best friends since 4th grade until one night causes everything they know to turn upside down.
🚦 My face at the end: 😬
💭 5 Reasons to Read:
- 1. 80’s vibes
- 2. Creepy horror situations
- 3. ET (If you know, you know)
- 4. Characters to root for
- 5. Fast paced story
🕧 Mini-Summary:
- Do you ever wonder what to do if your friend automatically starts to get sick, pull away, or manipulate people?
All thoughts and opinions are my own.
📘 Summary 📚 My Best Friend’s Exorcism
Abby and Gretchen have been best friends since fifth grade, when they bonded over a shared love of E.T., roller-skating parties, and scratch-and-sniff stickers. But when they arrive at high school, things change. Gretchen begins to act….different. And as the strange coincidences and bizarre behavior start to pile up, Abby realizes there’s only one possible explanation: Gretchen, her favorite person in the world, has a demon living inside her. And Abby is not about to let anyone or anything come between her and her best friend. With help from some unlikely allies, Abby embarks on a quest to save Gretchen. But is their friendship powerful enough to beat the devil?
