It’s Novel Nerd!
Sometimes I do full reviews of books, but this time I have been reading so many, that I decided to do one post with a bunch of different books!
Here is what I have been reading this month:
Lucy has been living with a few secrets. Then she meets James and they start dating. James finds out her secrets and cannot deal with the ramifications. Through a chance meeting with James’ grandmother, Lucy discovers that who she is does not have to be based on the past, but can be found in literary England.
This book was an interesting read. The way it was written was at time over descriptive, and since I am sometimes a skimmer, I found myself doing that a few times. However, the plot is solid and if you are a fan of classic Bronte, Austin, and Dickens, you will appreciate this book.
The Bronte Plot is available on AMAZON in ebook and paperback formats. Also available on Google Play.
Release date: Nov 3
Press Summary:
When Lucy’s secret is unearthed, her world begins to crumble. But it may be the best thing that has ever happened to her.
Lucy Alling makes a living selling rare books, often taking suspicious measures to reach her goals. When her unorthodox methods are discovered, Lucy’s secret ruins her relationship with her boss and her boyfriend James—leaving Lucy in a heap of hurt, and trouble. Something has to change; shehas to change.
In a sudden turn of events, James’s wealthy grandmother Helen hires Lucy as a consultant for a London literary and antiques excursion. Lucy reluctantly agrees and soon discovers Helen holds secrets of her own. In fact, Helen understands Lucy’s predicament better than anyone else.
As the two travel across England, Lucy benefits from Helen’s wisdom, as Helen confronts the ghosts of her own past. Everything comes to a head at Haworth, home of the Brontë sisters, where Lucy is reminded of the sisters’ beloved heroines, who, with tenacity and resolution, endured—even in the midst of change.
Now Lucy must go back into her past in order to move forward. And while it may hold mistakes and regrets, she will prevail—if only she can step into the life that’s been waiting for her all along.
Wynn’s Grandmother has told her stories of her great grandmother, and how she abandoned her child to be a Rum runner. When Wynn’s grandmother passes, Wynn finds a newspaper clipping that shares that there may be more to the story. Accompanied by her boyfriend Oliver, she starts off to find the real story, and along the way tries to find why she herself has been running.
This book was an interesting read for sure. I loved that the author keeps you reading by revealing information little by little.

Michelle has never revealed who the father of her daughter is to anyone. One small bet with her basically leads her to promise that she will marry George Clooney in order to keep her from making the same mistakes.
This was a really fun read. While you don’t ever truly believe that she will marry George, the hi jinks that ensue when she tries is very entertaining. This was definitely a must read!
I Will Marry George Clooney is available on AMAZON in ebook and paperback formats.
Release date: Oct 30
Press Summary:
A brand new very funny novel, from the bestselling author of No-One Ever Has Sex on a Tuesday and Single Woman Seeks Revenge.
There comes a time in every woman’s life when the only answer is to marry George Clooney.
For Michelle, that time is now.
Slogging her guts out in a chicken factory, whilst single-handedly bringing up a teenager who hates her, is far from the life that 36-year-old Michelle had planned.

Sometimes your only option is to dream the impossible – because you never know where it might take you…
This is a fun, completely fantastical novel featuring George Clooney, and has not been authorised or endorsed by the wondrous man himself.
Those who love a good murder mystery will love this book. Juliet comes back to a cafe she used to work at in college and isn’t there a day when people begin getting killed off. Honestly, I can’t tell you enough that if you love mysteries, you will like this!
Death Before Decaf is available on AMAZON in ebook formats. Also available on Google Play.
Release date: Nov 17
Press Summary:
Perfect for fans of Janet Evanovich and Diane Mott Davidson, Caroline Fardig’s captivating new mystery novel takes readers behind the counter of a seemingly run-of-the-mill coffeehouse . . . where murder is brewing.
After her music career crashes and burns spectacularly, Juliet Langley is forced to turn to the only other business she knows: food service. Unfortunately, bad luck strikes yet again when her two-timing fiancé robs her blind and runs off with her best waitress. Flushing what’s left of her beloved café down the toilet with her failed engagement, Juliet packs up and moves back to her college stomping grounds in Nashville to manage an old friend’s coffeehouse. At first glance, it seems as though nothing’s changed at Java Jive. What could possibly go wrong? Only that the place is hemorrhaging money, the staff is in open revolt, and Juliet finds one unlucky employee dead in the dumpster out back before her first day is even over.
The corpse just so happens to belong to the cook who’d locked horns with Juliet over the finer points of the health code. Unimpressed with her management style, the other disgruntled employees are only too eager to spill the beans about her fiery temper to the detective on the case. Add to the mix a hunky stranger who’s asking way too many questions, and suddenly Juliet finds herself in some very hot water. If she can’t simmer down and sleuth her way to the real killer, she’s going to get burned.
I have never heard of a tail of Cinderella like this. Kate has been made the keeper of Cinderella’s dresses (ball gown, wedding gown) from the step-sister’s descendants. The shoes have been lost, but Kate believes that if she finds them, she will be able find her lost father. There was a previous book called Cinderella’s Dress which I did not read. There are some references in this book to that but you can still follow it if you haven’t read it.
Cinderella’s Shoes is available on AMAZON in ebook and paperback formats. Also available on Google Play.
Release date: Oct 6

It turns out that the priceless glass slippers might actually exist, too, and they could hold the power to reunite lost loved ones like her father—missing in action since World War II ended. Turns out unfortunate decisions abound, and she’s just the girl to deal with them.
So that’s all the books for now. Until next time,
