Review
I have been participating in the Lego Star Wars world since my wife got the first game in 2005ish. The cut scenes in those games were always hysterical. Later someone got the bright idea to make long form cartoons.
I can only assume they’re popular because there is an epic crap-ton of them on Disney+. If you are not aware of the original Star Wars Holiday Special, it came out in 1978 (a year after the first movie) and was considered so bad George Lucas put it in a vault. Apparently there was a leak because the whole thing’s on YouTube.
This new special incorporates some things from the original. Life day is the equivalent to Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanza in the Star Wars galaxy. While preparing for the day Rey finds a kyber crystal key that enables her to travel time through the saga.
This holiday feature clocks in at 47 min. It might have been better served in half its running time.
This however was made for younglings and they should love it
