The Review
✨ The Title/Cover Draw:
- So many people loved this book. And from what I have read of the author, I did want to see if it lived up to Vicious. Since it was an option from BOTM, I requested and decided to finally read it.
💜 What I liked:
- We discover how Addie Larue influenced people both indirectly and directly. This was probably the most interesting thing for me besides her love story with Henry and the details surrounding that. The story is beautifully written.
😱 What I didn’t like:
- Sometimes the scenes with Luc seemed repetitive and a few of them almost unnecessary. Because of this it seemed to lag at times.
💁♀️ The Characters:
- Addie is forgotten after entering a deal with Luc but Henry remembers her. There are some other characters in Henry’s life that make appearances like Bea, Roger, and Muriel.
🚦 The Ending:
- The ending was sweet and inspiring. But I have very mixed feelings about it. After reading, I found myself between loving the imagery and the effect and crying frustratedly about how it all pans out.
💭 Consider if you like:
- Sweeping love stories and artistic references. This book is one of those that I can classify as extremely special, but not one of those books I would want to read again. To be fair, this book does deserve the hype, but immediately after reading it, I was disappointed. However, now that i have sat and thought more about it, I feel like it is moving and sticks with you.
All thoughts and opinions are my own.
