So this book confused me a little and it was probably my own fault. The description mentioned twists and turns so I expected it to be a thriller. And it really could have been. However, the ending was not as scandalous as I thought it could have been. Plus the middle was spliced with a story about a pregnancy with issues. The main character, as a midwife, was stressed out about this case as well as being ghosted by her friend AND dealing with some relationship problems. There was also instances of the main character just fainting on the job because of the stress but they never really addressed if there was any underlying medical issues there or not either.

Overall I just wished the story had been sussed out a little more and that there was a more nefarious reason why she was being ghosted.

Short Synopsis (abbreviate from Goodreads):

Violet and Zoe are best friends, joined at the hip...until Zoe vanishes.

Meanwhile Violet tries to juggle a new relationship and a demanding job as a midwife, where she meets a mum-to-be who faces her own unexpected challenges.

Who can Violet turn to to help her to find out what lies behind Zoe’s disappearance?

This is a story with twists and turns. A story of friendship. A story of trust.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
