📖 BOOK REVIEW⠀📚
BOOK: 20 Minutes On The Tube: Who Are You Travelling With?
AUTHOR: Daniel Hurst
Published: February 7, 2020
Going into this book, I felt like it was an amazing idea. What happens in the 20 min period? But to me it was just too many stories. I had a hard time keeping up with 20 different people when the stories were sort of contained within each chapter. That’s not to say that they aren’t connected, because they are. But have only 4-5 stories in each volume with them all coming together in the end might have proved to be more compelling.
The premise is, though, pretty interesting. So if you really like reading novellas, this is one to pick up. The writing is pretty fluid and there is a lot of description.
20 Minutes. 20 People. 20 different reasons to be underground...
Every year there are over a billion journeys made on the London Underground. But who are these people, where are they going and what have they done in their past?
People like Jelena, who is just trying to escape a life of hell. Or Anke, who is just trying to escape her marriage. Or Craig, who is just trying to escape life.
People like Louise who didn’t always plan on stealing, until she realised she could get away with. Or Valentin who didn’t always plan on murder, until he got bored and found himself a victim. Or Carol, who had spent her life doing nothing but make plans, until discovering they might all be taken away from her too soon.
Secrets. Lies. Terror. Death.
Its just another morning on the tube.
20 Minutes On The Tube is a contemporary fiction story that interweaves characters and plots and is the first book in the 20 Minute Series. If you have ever enjoyed watching strangers and guessing what their stories might be, then this is the series for you.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
