It’s Novel Nerd! Look for a new book review every monday.
Recently I began getting into book reviews, which you have probably noticed have been popping up on my blog a lot lately. My kindle app and google books always have to be stocked so I can read any time I get a chance.
My genres tend to be chic lit, young adult, and sci fi/ adventure. Big Law by Lucy Cameron, falls into the Chic-lit category.
This was a fairly easy read, however the ease of reading digital books made this one challenging as I received it in bound form. No matter! I love physical books and so I made a point to read this on my mini-vacation last week. That review is coming later.
The book really had a Devil Wears Prada feel to it, and while I know that is pretty much what the press release says, I have read both that and Revenge Wears Prada so I know what I am talking about. Mackenzie Corbett is running herself ragged trying to work for a large law firm in the corporate law department. She has to work through a series of cases that causes her to neglect her personal life and in the process comes to reflect on why she chose law in the first place.
Even if you are not familiar with legal jargon, you will not get lost in the book. It does not pander to the reader, but provides a fun and easy to read adventure through career vs passion. This is probably one of my new favorite books for the fall.
The Big Law is available on AMAZON in both regular and ebook formats. Not available on Google Play at this time.
