The Review

āœØ The Title/Cover Draw:

  • Really liked the first book about the Brown sisters, and with the 3rd coming out, I needed to read this one for sure!

šŸ’œ What I liked:

  • This was a very cute and fast read. Once again, the characters were unique and quirky which made it very easy to connect with them. Although, to be honest, I did connect more with Chloe. It was interesting in this book to see a take where the female doesnā€™t believe in marriage and a relationship as usually that is a male point of view trope.

šŸ˜± What I didnā€™t like:

  • This book dragged a bit in the middle, but not so much that it was annoying. Also I wanted to know more about Rafā€™s family. Lastly, and this is not a negative, but a caution: There are some SPICY scenes in this book.

šŸ’ā€ā™€ļø The Characters:

  • We follow Dani as she and Raf have a fake relationship, for reasons. Eve and Chloe Brown make small appearances. There is also Rafā€™s family and friends: Fatima, Jamal, and Karin.

šŸš¦ The Ending:

  • It was a super cute ending! I cannot wait for book 3 which is about Eve.

šŸ’ Consider if you like:

  • Contemporary Romance with unique characters and feisty love scenes.

All thoughts and opinions are my own.

šŸ“˜ Summary:

Talia Hibbert returns with another charming romantic comedy about a young woman who agrees to fake date her friend after a video of him ā€œrescuingā€ her from their office building goes viral…

Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown, and an occasional roll in the hay to relieve all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. Romantic partners, whatever their gender, are a distraction at best and a drain at worst. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefitsā€”someone who knows the score and knows their way around the bedroom.

When brooding security guard Zafir Ansari rescues Dani from a workplace fire drill gone wrong, itā€™s an obvious sign: PhD student Dani and ex-rugby player Zaf are destined to sleep together. But before she can explain that fact, a video of the heroic rescue goes viral. Now half the internet is shipping #DrRugbaeā€”and Zaf is begging Dani to play along. Turns out, his sports charity for kids could really use the publicity. Lying to help children? Who on earth would refuse?

Daniā€™s plan is simple: fake a relationship in public, seduce Zaf behind the scenes. The trouble is, grumpy Zafā€™s secretly a hopeless romanticā€”and heā€™s determined to corrupt Daniā€™s stone-cold realism. Before long, heā€™s tackling her fears into the dirt. But the former sports star has issues of his own, and the walls around his heart are as thick as his… um, thighs.

Suddenly, the easy lay Dani dreamed of is more complex than her thesis. Has her wish backfired? Is her focus being tested? Or is the universe just waiting for her to take a hint?
