Review
If you’re desperately awaiting the return of Stranger Things, you can watch this delightful tale of teens fighting for their neighborhood. In their borough, the community is strong. They are literally babysat by the local bodega owner played by The Kid Mero.
You don’t have to go too far to make the metaphor of Gentrifiers as being Vampires. With the distinction that real estate developers suck the community’s soul. The main character is on a practical one man crusade to save the bodega. This brings him in direct conflict with the immortal businessmen.
Miguel has to fight past people’s disbelief and fear to ultimately battle the soulless denizens of Murnau Realty. Side trivia: F.W. Murnau directed the 1922 classic Noferatu and the picture on the realty sign is Vlad the Impaler.
This is a thoroughly enjoyable movie. I highly recommend it.
